My Hair is so thick and coarse can someone out there give me some tips to make it silky and STRAIGHT

My Hair is so thick it goes into a middle parting naturally and I mostly have it in a ponytail because I can't do much with it.

I've tried sunsilk straight cream and john frieda frizz ease serum that cost a bomb.

Nothing seems to work and it's driving me nuts all the other girls can put the hair up easily withput a brush for gods sake i've got to the point where i just wanna rip it out! (obviously i won't!).

Basically I just won't my hair to go back easily and look straight!

I won't tips that are cheap please. If there is someone who can help me with this i would be so grateful.

Thanks, Lauren

Have you tried straigteners?? my friend used them and she found it to be really helpful on the frizz, but you will have to buy ones like GHD or something decent - Good luck

i have just recently paid 105 pounds for some ghd straighteneres but they are fantastic at leaving your hair silky smooth and above all straight........................alot of expense but well worth it!!

Colorsmart Hair Masque by matrix is on sale sometimes at Target for $11.99. When it's not on sale, I think it's close to $15.

But it's great for coarse fried hair, like mine, and I swear by it.

Sounds like you need to invest in a good hair straightener. And sorry to break this to you but your hair will probably never go back easily.. If it's as course as you say then it's probably not that oily. You could do your hair at night and then when you wake up it's easier to pull back and do more with. But, yeah.. if you haven't already tried a hair straightener that's the direction I would go. Make sure you put a heat protectant on it first. I use one by redken.. this will help keep the frizzies away longer. Hope you have good luck with this!

My hair is thick, wavy and coarse my girls got it too. They use straighteners and those have come down in price a lot and are the best for hair like yours. Also use a heavy conditioner like John Freida for brunettes (or blondes). Bed Head After Party is awesome for keeping it smooth applied after you straighten it. This is what works for us.

try not to put so many chemicals in your hair bc it will damage your hair.....after you shampoo and rinse, put an oil (try Paul Mitchell super skinny serum) to make your hair more manageable and smell good! Then blow dry your hair using a round open brush, and blow dry it straight then straighten it with straightening iron to make is smooth...... its alot of work but people with our hair gota put up with it....once you straighten it, you can leave it like that for a week and itll be fine

hi Lauren my hair was like your and the only way to keep it manageable is to have it all layered so its not so heavy then invest in some good hair straighteners maybe you could ask if you can have them as a early christmas pressie ....i use babyliss pro 230 and i love them they cost around 鎷?5-40 pound .but they are really good because they get really hot and this makes your hair even straighter ...... ...always make sure you use a good shampoo and conditioner all this will help good luck !!!!!!!!!!

obviously same as most answers straightners and deep conditioner

straightening your hair damages it, it can damage the hair and cause it to loose its water content more easily so your hair will go dry and frizzy. it sounds like your hair is lacking in moisture your hair should contain around an 8% water content to give it that nice shiny smooth look. try using different moisturizes until you find the right one(different ones work better on different people) and something to repair your damaged hair

Try a flat iron. The maxi-glide is really good. I use it on my hair, and it always comes out silky and straight. Maybe it will work for your hair also.

why dont you try the new boots straightning kit for 15pounds, i havent tried it yet, but it might help?

My Hair is so thick and coarse can someone out there give me some tips to make it silky and STRAIGHT! PLEASE!?

I have exactly the same problem. I have invested in GHD straighteners, which really do work. Also use a leave in conditioner. I sometimes find the frizz ease serum makes my hair feel greasy. Also, look on Boots' web site. They have a new straightening product that works like a perm in reverse. It costs 鎷?5 and there is a short instruction clip on the website. I would use it myself but my hair is highlighted and can't be used on highlighted or coloured hair. Hope this helps.

You need good ceramic hair straigtheners, if that doesnt work then i have heard that Boots have launched a new straigtening kit (reverse of a perm apparently) DIY at home - if you want a cheaper option this is cheaper than good straigteners as they will probs set you back 100 quid.

You could also just go to the hairdressers.....

To improve the general condition of your hair try FAST. Basically, it provides your hair with the optimum nutrition it needs. While it is not designed to relax hair, many people have reported a huge improvement in the condition of their hair.

My Hair is so thick and coarse can someone out there give me some tips to make it silky and STRAIGHT! PLEASE!?

Get a good hair straighter. Though, with any sort of heat processing your hair will become damaged. To fight the frizz and the damage from straigthening, DON'T shampoo every night. Most shampoos contain SLS, that will strip hair of natural oils.

Also, for home remedies-

Mashed avocado on your hair for about 15 min, then rinse.

Rinse your hair with beer (adds volume)

Honey mixed in with your conditioner will help mend split ends (Will lighten your hair, if you have darker hair- use molasses.)

Soy Sauce rinse (sounds gross but the protein in the Soy Sauce helps hair remain strong).

Have it cut, ask for a layering effect, this will thin out your hair, and feel less heavy, hopefully this will help.
