I'm thinking about getting long layers in my hair.. what would razor cut ends do to it? (my hair is long... about to the middle of my back)
What do razor cut tips do for your hair?
It makes the ends of your hair angled instead of blunt...the ends are then lighter than they would be if just cut with scissors.
I have fine hair but a lot of it so if my hairstylist doesn't do this to my ends and layers, my hairstyle looks very choppy and blunt on the ends. Having the razored ends lets it move a little and works with the natural wave of my hair.
I don't think it is good for thick hair because then the ends would be lighter than the rest of the hair...thick or coarse hair needs that bulk on the ends to weigh it down and keep it tamed!
So if your hair is on the finer side it will probably give your hair more movement and prevent the layers from looking severe and choppy. The razoring would blend the layers along the length of your hair and avoid a blunt look.

a razor look is REALLY nice, but if your hair is damaged at all, like slip ends, hair stylist wont use it. so make sure your hair is really healthy first. just google search razor cut hairstyles or things along that line

I would not reccomend it. On some people it can make your hair look like you have split ends. It looked really bad on me. Dont mess up your hair if it is that long!!!!!! If you want it layered thats fine, just don't let them use the razor!
