Any tips on straightening my hair with a hot comb?

Please help...I don't know when the iron is ready to use. It's either not hot enough or too hot and my hair turns white. I feel like it's a guessing game, and it takes a long time.

I personally don't recommend using hot combs or anything to straighten the hair because over time the hair will become damaged nd ultimately you will have to cut it off. However, if you must use a hot comb try going to a pro, that will save you a lot of time and possibly burns on your scalp, forehead and the nape of your neck. Hope this helps. Peace.

Go to the hair supply store or a salon and see if you can buy some perm wraps (the little papers they put at the end of your hair when doing a perm) when you go to straighten your hair with the comb, test the comb on one of the wraps. if it burns it or discolors it at all its too hot, if not its safe to use. thats what they taught us in cosmotology school, though i've never seen anyone actually use one

i would first suggest buying a better hair iron.I use one from WET 2 STRAIGHT it tells you when its hot enough.it actually does work if you just got out of the shower. Also I know it sounds dangerous but i use an actual iron first to straighten the majority of my hair out since I have really thick curly hair.It works great and it cuts the time in half(but do not do it more than a couple of times a week or it will kill your hair)Oh and I use "Polishing Serum with silk protein" use the hair iron to go over the spots you missed and WALA! your hair looks great trust me it works it makes my hair look gorgeous

When you remove the comb from the stove always wipe it first on a cloth. If the cloth turns brown the comb is too hot.
