Any tips on dying my hair black? (while keeping it as healthy as possible so it doesn't damage)

My hair is naturally black but I dyed it light brown, then to dark brown, and my hair was damaged for the longest time. I just got it cut to remove the split ends and I got a major conditioning treatment at a salon. I really would appreciate if it stayed healthy even if I dye it black. This will be probably be my last dye job for a long while. I so do not want frizz.

Go to a salon babe. They'll deep condition after the color. And at home, keep a deep conditioner once a week, and a lighter one for everyday use.

i agree with soup faerie, deep conditioning helps a lot!! hot oil treatments do as well however these things may fade your color over time.

using a vegetable color, or henna mixed with indigo will do less damage.

using a dark brown black instead of a blue black will also be less harsh.

a little trim after you dye will help reduce damaged ends.

if you do get frizz (which is unlikely to occur unless you've permed your hair) then just use a frizz controlling product i believe sunsilk makes a good one.

hope this helps

good luck

My hair is nerdy and boring. Does anyone have any tips on making ny hair look like Zac Efron?

My hair is nerdy and boring. Does anyone have any idea about making my hair bouncy? You know... When Zac Efron's hair bounces with him as he plays basketball...Do you guys know how to make mine look like his almost awesome hair without having to go through rebonding.....

DON'T make your hair look like Zac Efron! He's not cute... But if you want bounciness, think volume. Cut your hair in layers and use volumizing stuff. I have really flat hair and this is what I do.

Your question is little bit difficult to understand but you can find many shampoos available in the market that can make your hairs bouncy. However, use coconut oil for your hairs.

I have real curly hair and I hate to straighten it all the time. I need some good styling tips!!?

Ok, so I have real curly hair, and it gets pretty frizzy some times. I love it straight, but I don't want to take the time to make it straight and my mom won't let me get it perminatlly staight. I always have it all the way up in a pony tail and head band. Any suggesions on some nice 13-15 year old styling tips?

I have real curly hair and I hate to straighten it all the time. I need some good styling tips!!?

same problem. i often wear my hair half up half down cause my hair just takes to much time to straighten it..also you can try using a diffuser to dry your hair so it will not get as frizzy and then use hairspray on the top of your head.

you can scrunch it...

its when ur hair is went and u take gel or moose...

and just use ur hands and scrunch.....

I used to have that problem, but now I don't. I got this gel, that every time I get out of the shower I put it in my hair. I have to watch my hair though. You put it in and it straightens it. It is called "Simply Straight by Marc Anthony".

Get a good mousse or gel (curls rock is great). After you wash you hair, towel dry it, and then scrunch product into the hair. It looks really good, and I usually don't have to dry my hair. If your hair still looks too thick then ask the stylist to use thinning sheers to take out some of the volume and frizz. Then use the product and you should be good to go.

There's the ion treatment which straightens hair to an extreme, its very effective and it must be retouched every 3 months or so, but its kind of expensive around $200-300, and in order to get it your hair must be a virgin, meaning that it should not be dyed at the moment of the treatment. Still I don't know if your age allows for the treatment to be possible in your case, so go ask a professional if its healthy for your age. Imagine no curls for months. Good luck!

Best thing to do is just let it dry naturally, shake out as much water as possible in the shower and don't brush or comb it, as that makes it frizzier.

Use your fingers to "brush" and fluff it out as it's drying. And curly hair pretty much looks better short. I hardly ever use a brush on it.

I know, I'm old and I've never had a good hair day in my life. My hair is thick and curly and every tells me how lucky I am.

Ha!

Any tips for very greasy hair?

help from chip pan head (it does feel like a chip pan honestly)

HELP!!!!

also does any one else suffer the same problem??

Any tips for very greasy hair?

are you washing your hair on a daily basis?

I bet you are.

Try to cut down on it, the more you wash your hair, the greasier it gets. Try maybe going 2 days without washing it, and then 3 days, and so on. After a little while, your hair glands will stop producing so much oil.

When you do wash your hair, use a clarifying shampoo, and if you use conditioner, only put a little bit on your ends, don't bring the conditioner anywhere near the roots.

To get rid of oily roots, sprinkle a little bit of baby powder through your hair, making sure to massage it in a bit so that the white doesn't show. This should absorb some of the grease.

Any tips for very greasy hair?

dont condition the roots of your hair.

use a clarifying shampoo.

try not to run your hands through your hair a lot or brush it a lot either it stimulates the hair floical and produces more oil.

Any tips for very greasy hair?

Shampoo with protein rich and vitamin rich shampoo every day. Use a vitamin enriched conditioner.

Any tips for very greasy hair?

I used to have a big problem with greasy hair, until I realised that I was just using too uch conditioner and hair products afterward. Try to really wash your hair well with shampoo and then try to use just a little conditioner (but not on your scalp). your hair naturally creates oils, so there's no need for too much conditioner, and putting it on your scalp will just increase the build up. Hope that helps a little :)

Any tips for treating coarse hair?

It is very important to use good product! It can get a little expensive, but it's worth it. Conditioning is crutical! I recomend using Matrix-Sleek and Smooth line(orange bottles), it works great and not to much $$. Also, the Alterna line is fabulous! Bit more $$. Another important thing, do not wash everyday. It is good for dry hair to build up oils.

I am only guessing that you are of African American descent. When you deal with coarse hair, relaxers is probally not an option. On the contrary washing your hair everyday is the best thing to do. As soon as you get out of the shower. Use a product like Dax and brush it with a horse hair brush(found at most beauty supply stores.} Once you get your hair brushed, use your hands and firmly rub it into the grain or direction of your hair growth. Then tie it down with a doo rag. Make sure that you start with a short cut, this helps to train your hair.

Condition, condition, condition! I like Paul Mitchell's Moisturizing Conditioner. You'll need to use a creamy styling product too like a pomade or creamy wax that will moisturize while helping to control and style. Everyone's hair is different so you may have to try a few different products before finding one that works for you. Some salons will let you trade in a product you bought there on something else if you don't like it.
