Yes it is ..it's actually very bad... wether you chemically straighten it, iron it or blow dry it straight..I mean, who doesn't straighten their hair now a days. Thats why you should also take care of your hair. I have been dying and straightening my hair since the 11th grade and I am 24 years old now. My hair is not the most healthy but its not damaged, people that actually know everything my hair goes through actually give me compliments and ask what i do to it so here it goes....
1- you might think this is crazy but i buy the revlon hair dye (just to get the little conditioner that comes with the hair dye)
- put it on your hair at least 2-3 times a month..
- wrap your hair with a plastic bag (thin grocery bag)
- get a thin towel that can cover your whole head and heat it in
the microwave for 1-2 min until very hot....then wrap it around
your head and leave on until it gets cold and repeat until you
have done it for a total of 15 min.
2- get a hair cut every 2-3 months.. getting rid of the damaged tips always makes hair looking healthy.
3- I use "chenice" products ... the multi-vitamin oil..this item is awesome its not oil its just like putting water in your hair it hydrates it its absolutely awesome... and i also use the chenice sheen spray which i use after styling my hair..it gives it this shine and it smells great... it gets that burnt smell off your hair if you know what i mean...
Hope this helps girl!

Definetly trim your hair as many as inches as you can let go off. I like Redkin All Soft line- it has a vocado oil in it and it smells like peaches- really good at softening hair. Get the shampoo, conditioner and hair mask. Use as directed.

i just had the same thing done to me exactly a week ago
well first off so the perm wont come off you shouldnt wash it for at least 2 days (you can condition it, but dont shampoo it because itll undo the perm) and you should use tresseme shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair (theyre black and white bottles) theyre relitively cheap. well good luck

Use a really good conditioner like Nexxus Humectress. Put it in your hair as a leave in conditioner and leave it on all night. Keep using it frequently and it should get healthier. Also - don't wash your hair every day - that will dry it out further. Instead - wear a shower cap and just wash it every other day. Don't blow dry or flat iron your hair until it becomes more healthy. And be sure and get your hair trimmed at least every six weeks.

i would do a few conditioning treatments. at home is least expensive. here's how, go to k-mart, walmart, were ever they sell hair things/stuff. and get 1-3 or so individually packs of the hair moisturizer/replenisher stuff. it is a small packet in a foil type thing, that is shaped like a foot i think. but make sure it is for your hair.(it would be in the make-up section in k-mart and about $1.20 each) you have to leave it in your hair for a total of at least 5 min. then rinse but for best results longer is preferable. first shampoo as regular then use a conditioner next apply this. for best resolts use a non friz shampoo and cond.) it has honey and avocado oil and other natural things in it that are good for your hair. dont blow dry or iron your hair let air dry, and you could use a leave in conditionar as well. gel(aussie) worked best for me afterward not a leave in cond.. good luck and hopes to a healthy recovery to your hair. you will have to repeat every time you shower for three or so times it really works.

Biolage Conditioning Balm and Moisturising Shampoo
I straightened my hair and it made my hair look and feel like straw. I tried everything on store shelves and soaked it in conditioner. I finally went to a salon and asked them what to do or If they had anything strong that soften my hair. They recommened Biolage. Its a bit pricey But worth every penny!!!!
Just remember Conditioning BALM in the jar like container.
