After I get my hair relaxed and straightened at the shop I'm not able to get it back that way, so my first question is, what is your technique and what do you use?
I also was wondering about a hot oil treatment product and how you use it?
I currently just started using Nexxus botanical and humectress to streghten my hair from bad breakage and John Frieda's leave in conditioner and Secret Weapon to control my flyaways.
Also I was wondering about straightening blams, hair serums and curl defining products...what do they do for really coarse african american hair and what are the best brands for my texture of hair?
please help

you can wrap your hair so you can keep the style for 1 or 2 weeks.Hot oil treatments are really good for the hair. You can also get deep conditionnings. The best brand is pantene or motion.(I have really really thick hair)
Good luck

nappturality.com is a good site,
motowngirl.com is also another.
even though they are for girls going natural, they have great advice and ratings for good products.
Some people say to avoid products with SLS in them, but I for one haven't noticed a difference. I use LUSH products on my hair and they've treated my hair good.
I have quite coarse hair and up until recently I'd been using Dark %26amp; Lovely relaxers but I recently tried Root Stimulator Organic hair relaxer and my hair hasn't been this soft. Their conditioning pack has also kept my hair and moisturised like nothing before and it's winter! Also I don't use much for my hair, Boots Castor and Zinc baby oil keeps my hair and ends moisturised. If you want to try deep conditioning, try olive oil or coconut or even almond oil as they're very good for the hair.
Like I said earlier, there are loads of tips and advice on those two websites I've given so it's worth having a look. Hope that helps.

moisturize your hair...coarse hair=dry hair=fragile hair=breakage.
you do not have to have coarse hair, your texture can change if you just learn to moisturize your hair properly. i use organic root stimulator's replenishing conditioner once a week as a deep conditioner (all natural products). i just started using elasta qp design foam (majority of ingredients are natural) because i was tired of making my own leave in, it really moisturizes the hair.
www.motowngirl.com, great resource on natural hair.
